PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD/WYZZ) — Morton is your boys basketball Mid-Illini Conference champion.

Alex McKie scored 18 points and Collin Burns added 14 to lift Morton past host Washington, 61-49, in the conference finale Tuesday night. With the win, Morton (24-4, 13-1) clinches its first outright M-I title since 2018.

The Potters win the conference by a game over second-place East Peoria (25-4, 12-2). The Raiders closed their conference schedule with a 60-33 win over visiting Pekin.

Other boys basketball winners Tuesday included Dunlap, Canton, Peoria High, Dee-Mack, Eureka, Heyworth, Peoria Heights, Peoria Christian, Farmington and North Fulton.

In girls basketball, senior Kessa Sell scored 14 of her game-high 21 points in the opening quarter as host Metamora beat Streator, 57-27, in a class 3A regional semifinal. Metamora will play Morris for the regional title Friday.

Normal West and Bloomington each won regional semifinals and will face each other for the 3A regional title hosted by Bloomington on Thursday.
