This was a Nebraska-Iowa football game. Low scoring. Low possessions. Iowa getting the home whistle when it mattered.

But it was the offensive foul on Reink Mast with 1:02 to go which was one of the worst offensive foul calls I’ve seen in a real long time. Reink Mast was set. And yes, Iowa’s best player got hit by a screen and fell down. But they called it.

Then Sam Hoiberg fouled Bennett Stirtz shooting a three and the game was over.

As if the book wasn’t already out, but if you stay attached and are overly physical with Nebraska (and Reink Mast is unable to score down low) then you can beat Nebraska.

The Huskers have been a great rebounding team this entire season but at the real important moments in this game Iowa won that rebound.

I’m not entirely sure what else we should take from this loss. Our ability to deal with a physically attached defense will determine what we do going forward.

Disappointing offensive performance for sure. But the defense was there. That’s what they can rely upon going forward.

The idea of how officials will call freedom of movement and set screens as a determining factor is not great.

Oh, sorry. Iowa won 57-52.
