Fabio Wardley is set to defend his WBO Heavyweight title for the first time against Daniel Dubois on May 9, 2026 inside Co-op Live in Manchester, England in a bout between two hard-hitting, knockout producing British big men.

Wardley (20-0-1) won the interim strap in Oct. 2025 with a technical knockout (TKO) win over Joseph Parker (see it again here). He was then elevated to full champion after Oleksandr Usyk relinquished the title a month later (full details here). Wardley (31) has won all but one of his fight via KO/TKO, making him one of the best in the world.

As for Dubois, he actually coughed up his IBF title to the aforementioned Usyk in July 2025, which was his second defeat to the hard-hitting Ukrainian (video here). Prior to that crushing defeat he secured a stunning stoppage win over Anthony Joshua. Now, he is out to once again secure gold to cement his status as one of the best Heavyweights in the game.

While Usyk’s next move is unclear at the moment, the winner of this fight could set himself up for a potential collision against “The Cat,” especially Wardley, who has yet to face him. For Dubios, meanwhile, a trilogy bout might be hard to come by since he has been stopped violently by Usyk twice before.
