Nebraska forward Berke Büyüktuncel enters the transfer portal

Nebraska men's basketball continues its offseason with a player entering the transfer portal. Junior forward Berke Büyüktuncel officially entered the portal on Tuesday morning.
Büyüktuncel started in 33 of Nebraska's 35 games this season and averaged 6.5 points and 5.6 rebounds per game and totaled 34 blocked shots. He even recorded the fourth triple-double in school history against North Dakota with 12 points, 11 rebounds and a career-high 10 assists. Büyüktuncel also scored a career-high 16 points in the team's win over Oklahoma early in the season.

In the NCAA Tournament, he averaged 7.7 points per game and a team-high 7.0 rebounds per game. Büyüktuncel shot sharply against Vanderbilt in the second round, finishing 5-of-6 from the floor and 2-of-2 from three to score 12 points. It marked his first double-digit game since late December.
Büyüktuncel spent two seasons at Nebraska after playing his freshman year at UCLA. He played in 26 games, including eight starts for the Bruins. The forward averaged 4.9 points and 2.7 rebounds at UCLA. In his first season with the Huskers, he averaged 6.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.4 assists across 31 games and 28 starts.
The Bursa, Türkiye native is now the third Husker to enter the portal, joining freshman Quentin Rhymes and sophomore Justin Bolis.
