Mets announce lineup for Sunday matchup vs. Pirates

NEW YORK — The Mets have taken a circuitous journey to aim for a first sweep of the 2026 season.

After an offensive onslaught on Opening Day, the Mets needed 10 innings before they could score their first run on Saturday night against the Pirates. Then, Luis Robert Jr. capped a frenzied comeback with a walk-off three-run home run to move the Mets to 2-0.

At 1:40 p.m. on Sunday afternoon, the Mets will have an opportunity to grab a third straight win to start the season in the series finale against the Pirates at Citi Field.

Nolan McLean will be making his season debut after spending a momentous two weeks competing for the U.S. in the World Baseball Classic, including starting the championship game against Venezuela.

Brett Baty will be making his first career start at first base, while Jorge Polanco will shift to designated hitter for the third game of the season.
