Nine-man Bayern draw at Leverkusen in wild game as Dortmund trim gap
· Yahoo Sports
Luis Díaz equalized and was later sent off in Bayern Munich's eventful 1-1 draw at Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday as the nine-man champions saw their Bundesliga lead trimmed to nine points.
Aleix García struck for the hosts after Díaz had given the ball away and an injury-hit Bayern then had Nicolas Jackson dismissed for a bad foul before half-time.

Harry Kane thought he had levelled on the hour moments after coming on, but he was controversially adjudged to have handled the ball during the build-up following a video review.
Colombia's Díaz then did make it 1-1 on 69 minutes from assist king Michael Olise's assist following Robert Andrich's wayward pass.
He received a second booking on 84 for diving, which he vehemently protested, and Leverkusen had a goal ruled out for a very tight offside in stoppage time.
Leverkusen stay sixth in the race for the Champions League spots, two points behind fourth-placed VfB Stuttgart and RB Leipzig in fifth, who meet in the last of three Sunday games.
"It is a question of mentality," Bayern's Jonathan Tah told Sky after the battling point. "Everyone wanted to give everything and somehow get something out of the game. It shows our strength and what sort of team we are."
Borussia Dortmund cut the gap at the top with eight games left following a 2-0 home win over Augsburg.
The goals came courtesy of Karim Adeyemi and teenager Luca Reggiani - his first in the Bundesliga - in a game captained by rival brothers Nico and Kevin Schlotterbeck.
Third-placed Hoffenheim drew 1-1 with second-bottom Wolfsburg as coach Dieter Hecking returned to the Wolves dug-out after 10 years.
The 2009 champions are three points adrift and in danger of a first Bundesliga relegation after years of near misses and backer Volkswagen cutting some funding.
European hopefuls Eintracht Frankfurt - in seventh - won 1-0 at home to bottom side Heidenheim, who lie 10 points away from safety and are quickly heading for the second tier.
Cologne picked up a 1-1 draw at SV Hamburg to go a point above St Pauli, who occupy the relegation play-off spot having lost 2-0 at Borussia Mönchengladbach on Friday.
Wild game in Leverkusen
Bayern began the game in Leverkusen with top scorer Kane on the bench having missed the previous two games with a calf complaint.
The 6-1 Champions League win at Atalanta in midweek was not all roses, with Alphonso Davies, Jamal Musiala and goalkeeper Jonas Urbig all being hurt and ruled out for the timebeing.
With Manuel Neuer also injured, third keeper Sven Ulreich made a rare start and he was quickly picking the ball out of the net as Garcia's deflected strike exposed lax Bayern play from Díaz and the defence.
The visitors thought they had found a leveller through Jonathan Tah on his return to the BayArena but it was ruled out due to a handball.
Jackson's red was deserved and Leverkusen had two good chances early in the second half before Kane was introduced on the hour.
Kane netted immediately, but the referee decided at the monitor that the England striker had illegally blocked Janis Blaswich's clearance with his arm - despite his elbow being close to his body.
The England captain has 30 goals and is now unlikely to beat Robert Lewandowski's record of 41 in a Bundesliga season.
There was time for more drama when Díaz was carded again for a dive even though contact with the onrushing Blaswich was visible after the winger began to go down.
Jonas Hofmann's shoulder was just offside in injury time and Leverkusen even had the ball in the net again late on, but it had been blown up for a foul.
Bayern should have little trouble against Atalanta in their Champions League last 16 second leg at home on Tuesday. But Leverkusen have a tougher ask at Arsenal on Tuesday, with the scores locked at 1-1.
