Gary Lineker has acknowledged that Benjamin Sesko is “starting to look like” a genuine Manchester United player, following a recent run of strong performances from the Slovenian striker.

Sesko has found himself out of the starting XI for Manchester United’s last six Premier League matches, with Michael Carrick opting for different options up front.
Despite that, the 22-year-old has made his presence felt coming off the bench, particularly during United’s narrow win over Everton on Monday.
Carrick introduced the former RB Leipzig striker in the second half at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, and he went on to score the decisive goal against the Toffees, sealing a valuable three points for United.

Despite being dropped to the bench under Carrick, the Slovenian star has scored three times under the Manchester United interim head coach’s first six matches in charge.
He scored in Manchester United’s 3-2 victory over Fulham and also found the net during the 1-1 draw with West Ham at London Stadium this month.
During his appearance on The Rest Is Football podcast, Lineker offered high praise for the standout qualities of Sesko.
“Even Sesko, when he came on the last few games, he’s starting to look like a bit of a player here,” the former striker said.
“He’s quick, he gets behind teams, he’s a big lad. Obviously, he’s good in the air.”

Carrick took over as interim boss in January following the sacking of Ruben Amorim, stepping into a club that needed to reset.
According to Lineker, the circumstances surrounding Amorim’s tenure at Man Utd directly impacted players like Sesko and others at Old Trafford throughout the season.
“So, you know, it’s taken him time to settle, but that’s probably the Amorim situation as well, which is all over the shop.
“Everyone was struggling for form,” Lineker concluded.
The Slovenia international made the switch from RB Leipzig last summer, joining United in a £73.7m deal.
