Congratulations to Heritage Christian's Riley Johnson on being voted Player of the Week for Regionals! Johnson scored 24 points in a blowout win over Union County. She did her damage with four triples and a perfect 5-for-5 finish from inside the arc. Johnson also logged six rebounds, three steals and three assists with only two turnovers.
Kaitlyn Barton, Bellmont
Barton netted 14 points in the semistate championship game vs. Connersville. The Braves advance to face Roncalli in the 3A championship game.
Sidney Burton, Eastern (Pekin)
Burton scored 19 points as part of a double-double in game one, then dropped 15 in game two to lead Eastern to its first finals appearance since 2017.
Brianna Dailey, Oak Hill
Dailey, a 6-1 sophomore, posted a double-double in the semistate championship game vs. Bremen, tallying 16 points and 14 rebounds. She had 19 points in a semifinals upset of 2A No. 1 Whitko. Oak Hill advances to face Eastern (Pekin) in the 2A championship game.
Mollie Ernstes, Jennings County
The Kansas commit was simply sensational Saturday, totaling 54 points between games vs. Washington and Roncalli. Against the Royals, Ernstes scored 15 of her team’s 20 points in the first half and 18 of 27 in the second. The sectional title was Jennings County's first in 21 years. The regional title was its first since 1993.
Myra Finnity, Greenwood Christian Academy
Finnity helped the Cougars fight off a furious fourth-quarter rally from Tindley in the semifinal, posting a double-double with 17 points and 16 rebounds. GCA, which lost to Borden in the final, finished the season 17-11, its best since 2019-20.
Gracyn Gilliard, Center Grove
Gilliard scored 21 points in a blowout win over Reitz, then accumulated 18 in a clutch performance vs. Lawrence Central. Undefeated Center Grove will face two-time defending 3A state champion Norwell in the 4A state final.
Lillie Graves, McCutcheon
Graves logged 20 points, 12 rebounds, five steals and five assists for McCutcheon in the semifinals vs. Northridge, then tallied 20 points on 8-of-18 shooting against Norwell in the nightcap.
Eliana Grubbs, Bremen
Grubbs netted a team-high 20 points and led Bremen back from an early double-digit deficit vs. Lapel in the opener, then racked up 14 points in a loss to Oak Hill in the nightcap.
Shay Hawk, Washington
Hawk scored 25 points in a semifinals loss to Jennings County. The Hatchets were making their first semistate appearance since 1997.
Aniston Kent, Jennings County
The 5-4 sophomore scored 10 points in the fourth quarter to lead No. 8 Jennings County to a 60-54 semistate semifinal win over Washington.
Elliot Leffler, Roncalli
Leffler scored 14 of her 20 points in the second half of the Royals' semistate championship win over Jennings County, including a pair of clutch free throws with 4.9 seconds remaining. Leffler had 16 points in the semifinal vs. Northview
Riley Rarick, Borden
Rarick totaled 41 points, 16 rebounds, 10 assists, four blocks and five steals in semistate wins over Evansville Christian and Greenwood Christian Academy. Rarick, who will lead Borden into the Class A final vs. Fremont, recently committed to University of the Cumberlands.
Vanessa Rosswurm, Norwell
Rosswurm continued her postseason rampage Saturday, dropping 20 points on 6-of-18 shooting against Crown Point, then going for 19 with three triples and five assists in the finale vs. McCutcheon.
Macie Saalfrank, Norwell
Saalfrank hit five 3s and scored 17 points in a semistate championship win over McCutcheon. She notched 16 points and six steals in the afternoon game vs. Crown Point.
Grace Scharlach, Fremont
The junior made her semistate debut with 29 points in a state quarterfinals win over Monroe Central (five 3s!) then dropped 13 points and dished out eight assists in the championship game vs. Elkhart Christian. Fremont advances to the state finals for the first time in program history.
Addie Smith, Eastern (Pekin)
Smith logged 14 points in game one against North Knox while limiting standout Lexi Primus to just 11 points (three in the first half). She followed that effort with 11 points in game two vs. Parke Heritage.
Haley Wagoner, Center Grove
Wagoner notched nine points in the semifinal, then went for another eight points in the championship game vs. Lawrence Central.
