SUNY New Paltz men's basketball to host SUNYAC quarterfinal on Tuesday

SUNY New Paltz claimed a spot in the SUNY Athletic Conference men's basketball tournament with a weekend sweep of Plattsburgh and Potsdam.

The Hawks (13-12) topped Plattsburgh 80-79 on Friday and Potsdam 94-90 on Saturday - both on the road - to extend secure the No. 4 seed and home playoff game on Tuesday. New Paltz will host No. 5 seed Plattsburgh (12-12) at 7 p.m. The winner will head to tourney host and No. 1 seed Cortland (21-4) for a 7:30 p.m. semifinal on Friday, Feb. 27.
No. 2 seed Oneonta (17-8) will play in the 5:30 p.m. semifinal, hosting the winner of Tuesday's quarterfinal between No. 6 Morrisville (9-16) and No. 3 Oswego (21-4).
The SUNYAC champion receives an automatic berth into the NCAA Division III tournament..
Six graduates from the Mid-Hudson Valley will have an opportunity to play in the SUNYAC tournament.
