Rowe, who committed to Oklahoma in April 2024, ranks as No. 90 player in the country in his class, per the 247Sports composite rankings. He's the 11th-ranked player in Texas and the 12th-ranked defensive lineman in the nation.
The commitment to OU didn't stop other schools' pursuits, nor did it stop him from creating a set of finalists. He initially announced his finalists as Oklahoma, Oregon and Texas Christian back in January. On Wednesday, TCU was out while North Carolina and Washington joined the Sooners and Ducks.
In the fall, as a junior, Rowe collected 72 tackles, including 26 for-loss, 24 quarterback hurries, eight sacks, two interceptions, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries while playing for Guyer High School in Denton, Texas.
Coach Brent Venables has already received one hard commitment from an EDGE rusher in the 2027 class. Krew Jones from Orem, Utah, is a four-star recruit who pledge to Oklahoma around Thanksgiving. Elija Harmon, a 6-foot-3, 280-pound defensive lineman, also committed in December, but he projects more as a defensive tackle.
OU's 2027 class currently ranks as the No. 1 class in the nation. Thirteen players have committed, including three top-100 players.
