The Golden State Warriors' front office has begun to finalize their roster for the rest of the 2025-26 NBA season, and two-way guard Pat Spencer has reportedly made the cut.
According to ESPN's Shams Charania, the Warriors are bringing the former collegiate lacrosse great aboard full-time to assist Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and the newly-acquired Kristaps Porzingis.
"The Golden State Warriors are signing two-way guard Pat Spencer to a contract for the rest of the season, Mark Bartelstein and Ross Aroyo of Priority Sports tell ESPN," Charania shared via X on Saturday.
The 29-year-old point guard has proven his worth at different stretches for the Warriors this season, namely through his impressive five-game run from Dec. 2 - Dec. 12, when he averaged 15.2 points, 5.4 assists, 4.2 rebounds and 1.2 steals and started three contests.
Overall, the third-year guard has contributed 5.8 points, 2.9 assists and 2.2 rebounds on a 50.0% effective field goal percentage in 36 appearances this season, standing out as a player the Warriors can trust to run their offense in the absence of Curry.
The Warriors will now bring Spencer along on a deal for the rest of the year, and into what they are hoping could be a surprisingly deep postseason run.
He may not be featured in Golden State's nightly rotation, but Spencer's strong handle and sneaky athleticism can provide an instant spark for the group whenever he enters any given contest.
Spencer played a massive role in the Warriors' most recent 101-97 victory over the Phoenix Suns on Thursday night with Curry sidelined, as he scored 20 points and connected on six of his 10 attempts from three-point range.
